FIJI SURFING PACKAGE DEALS 2007
For example, at Seashell@Momi (formerly Seashell Cove Resort) they have a new Surf Package just out for 2007. Seashell are close to renowned breaks such as Wilkes, Mini Cloud break, Lighthouse or Desperation. They have experienced boatmen and custom-built surf boats.

The package includes 7 nights' accommodation, return airport transfers (from Nadi International Airport to and from Seashell), 7 day full meal plan, 3 surf trips (with additional trips available for just FJ$40 (approx AUD$30) per trip. To round off your Fiji surf vacation, Seashell also include a visit to a traditional Fijian Village!
The packages range from just FJ$730 - FJ$1605 depending on your choice of surfing accommodation. In Australian dollars that works out to approximately AUD$560 - AUD$1,230. And if you have a non-surfing partner, their package is only FJ$435 - FJ$610 extra.
We're here .. where the Paradise are you?!!
Had you taken a trip to Fiji Islands during and since that time you'd hardly notice anything anything different, however. Most 'happenings' were in the capital of Suva, rather than the main tourist areas of Fiji, and even there it was mostly business as usual. Though it would like to welcome more visitors, Suva represents just a small part of the annual tourist trade in Fiji, with the main tourism areas not found in the capital but in other parts of the nation.
Fiji has been operating in the same familiar friendly and welcoming way that they have done for many, many years. Those travellers who did decide to come and who have booked since are the lucky ones - no crowds, personalised attention, and the same tropical sunshine, sandy beaches, and - as the saying goes quite rightly - some of the friendliest people on earth. It's a pity that the political events and overseas media publicity have caused them some hardship.
To twist a well-known Australian phrase but in more modest, and emininently smiling and friendly Fiji style .. "We're here, where the "Paradise" are you" :-)
Notwithstanding the human need for caution when travelling anywhere overseas, travellers over the past few months have been as safe and well-treated as they ever could wish to be. The news of the coup seems to have had the same effect on travellers as if it had been announced that Fiji had returned to cannibalism! Have no fear, for Fijians remain the friendliest on earth in spite of so many losing their jobs or going on short shifts due to the downturn in tourism.
There are some great deals at the moment for Australians who would like to visit Fiji - as the current tourist population have found out already - so check out your local travel agent or maybe contact some destinations direct.
Enjoy some free Fiji Beers!
Fiji is just a few hours by plane from the east coast of Australia (a little further for those in the west), so one can be at Mango Bay Resort before one can say "Bula, make mine a Fiji Bitter, vinaka!"
Talking of which, Mango Bay Resort are offering for the month of March 2007, FJ$20 towards your bar tab! Whether your preference is a Fiji Beer, wine, tropical Fiji cocktail or soft drink, the first twenty bucks Fiji is on the Resort. Plus there is a happy hour every night to make your FJ$20 go even further.
Hurry, though, this offer is to the end of March.
